Samuel Tatum born abt 1638 Charles City Co VA. He was the son of Nathaniel and Ann Tatum.

Before Oct 1686 Samuel Tatum Sr apparently traveled to England because he received land for transporting people to VA.

30 Oct 1686 Charles City Co VA Mr. Samuel Tatum 803 acres in Bristol Par at a place called Warrockbock bordered by John Smith, Henry Batt, crossing the second Sw. to land of Hugh Lee. Transport of 17 persons.

3 Aug 1688 Charles City Co., VA. Samuel Tatum took Robert Malone, an orphan, to raise, and promised to see that he had all of the usual allowances at the end of his apprenticeship. He also promised to use his utmost endeavor to cure his head.


24 Oct 1701 Charles City Co VA Capt Francis Epps, Mr. William Epps, & Capt Littleberry Epps, 1000 acres on S side of Worwick Sw. & N side of Joseph Sw bordering John Scott, Capt Thomas Busby, Mr. Robinson, Samuel Tatum. Transport of 20 persons.

In action of case between Stith and Robert Bolling, cosignees of Henry Offley and Nathaniel Tatum, Admr. of Samuel Tatum, dec'd, for 681 lbs tobacco, due by and dated from 29 December 1714 to 12th March the following, deft. appears and prays plaintiffs may prove their acct. Robert Bolling makes oath that sum is justly due, and judgement is granted.

Wynn and Nathaniel Tatum, Adm'r of Samuel Tatum, dec'd. for L9/2/5 due by bill dated 19 Nov 1713, plt. appears by her son Buller Herbert and makes oath that L2/1/11 is now justly due. Judgement granted.
