8 After his wife died in 1958 he was unable to continue working so
he retired shortly after her death.

9 After the war the Italian Government was offering $20 and a free
passage to Canada of which he took. On Feburary 15, 1920 Michele
departed from Naples, Italy with his wife Mariangela leaving
behind their daughter Vincenza. They arrived in New York City,
March 3, 1920 on the Vessel "H. R. Mallory"

13 During the second world war he was registered with a certificate
of exemption No.R-15279 as an enemy alien and isussed with a
parole certificate No. 64894. On May 18, 1945 he was granted
Canadian Citizenship and on October 2, 1945 swore on Oath of
Allegiance to Canada. On October 9,1945 was granted certificate
of natuaralization No. 204921 Srries A.

14 In Canada he settled in the Goose Village, Montreal and worked
at the following places:

15 Michele came to Canada the first time in 1909 with his older
brother Andrea. When World War 1 broke out he had the choice of
going back to Italy to fight for Italy or to stay in Canada to
fight with the Canadians. He chose to go back to Italy to fight
with the Italians. He was issued Service No. 33106 (4) when he
arrived for service on January 15, 1914. On May 26, 1915 he was
sent to the war zone. He left the war zone sick on September 3,
1915 and reported to the Depot on September 25, 1915. Michele
was disharged from the army on July 5, 1919. Sometime between
September 25, 1915 and July 5, 1919 he was captured by the
Germans and spent the majority of the war in a concentration
camp in Bavaria, Germany.
