This has to be the LG Cathey rec'd in May 1753 and was adj THOMAS ROBINSON. It must have been very good land to sell for that much. The old road from Charlotte to Lincolnton went across the Tuckaseegee Ford so this land could have been in either today's Gaston or Lincoln Counties NC. 1778 July: THOMAS ROBINSON, James Beaty, Saml Elder listed adj LG to James Cuningham on Cuninghams Crk of the Catawba Riv. Rutherford Co Minutes of Ct & Qtr Session says "one negro woman and two children, 32 head of cattle, 30 head of sheep and all his [Robinson] stock of hogs and all his corn and wheat". 1782: Rutherford Co 1782 Tax List does not contain THOMAS ROBINSON's name. There has been speculation about why a number of Rutherford Co tax payers didn't show up on this list. The common thought is that those not listed were Tories and under incitement for land confiscation. 1782 January: THOMAS ROBINSON summoned for Jury duty in Lincoln Co. 1782 April: THOMAS ROBINSON and Thomas Henry ordered to serve as Constables in Cpt Moore's Dist for one year. Lincoln Co. 1782 July: THOMAS ROBINSON and many others brought up on charges as being a Tory. A Rutherford Co Grand Jury says "the following people, all late of Rutherford Co, planters, aided & joined" the army of Major Fergerson and are convicted as Tories "a true bill". The same month a "presentment to confiscate property of Tories" again includes THOMAS ROBINSON name. I'm not sure what this is indictment is for. The battle of Kings Mountain, where Ferguson was the British commander, was fought on 7 Oct 1780. Whether this means THOMAS ROBINSON was a participate of this battle or just aided Ferguson with supplies is unknown. 1783 March: THOMAS ROBINSON sells land on BS side of Puzzle Crk for L55 to Graves Eves. This was recorded in Rutherford Co. 1785 October: THOMAS ROBINSON, Martha Morgan (Martha Morgan was Eliz Biggerstaff's dau), and Elizabeth Cartright sell 300A on "land on Indian Crk which they became legally vested with". This is recorded in Lincoln Co and is an unusual document. It appears there was some type of inheritance, but I've never found an original document that "legally vested" them with this property. Note: Elizabeth Cartwright is listed in the 1790 census of Rutherford Co NC in the same Company (old Rankin Company) as Thomas Robinson Sr. Elizabeth is listed with 3 Free White Males Under 16 and 3 Free White Females of all ages. 1785 November: THOMAS ROBINSON sells 621A to Peter Fite. Witnessed by Thomas Hawkins and Abel Lewis. Deed Book L, Pg 68, 13 Nov 1792, Rutherford Co. Note: This is a very expensive piece of land that Thomas Robinson sold to Eve's. It appears Eve's was already living on the land prior to the sale and "mill shoals" may indicate this was a mill of some type. 1793 January: THOMAS ROBERTSON sells land on BS Wards Crk for L110 to James Huddleston. Recorded Rutherford Co. 1793 August: "Know that I, THOMAS ROBINSON, for and in consideration of L25 to me paid by William Robinson at or before the delivery, have bargained, sold and delivered 1 mare and colt, 1 cow, 1 bed and furniture forever."
