1796: Thomas (John lined out) Robinson enters 300 acres in Rutherford Co adjacent Thomas Cavander, Cartwright to the east, Abel Lewis to the northeast on Puzzell Creek and Joseph Burinett. 13 Jan 1796, Pg 107, Rutherford Co Land Entries.

1796: Thomas Robinson Jr marries Mary Lewis (daughter of Abel Lewis) on 20 Jul 1796, Rutherford Co, NC. The bondsman was John Robinson.

1797: John Robinson enters 50 acres in Rutherford Co on ES of Second Broad Riv adj Thomas Robinson, Wm Eves. 28 Sep 1797 Pg 146 Rutherford Co Land Entries 1795-1803.

1797: Thomas Robinson enters 100 acres in Rutherford Co on BS Georges Crk near Wm Wamock, above Jesse Clark, near John Hughes. 9 Oct 1797 Pg 147 Rutherford Co Land Entries 1795-1803.

Note: An identical deed dated the same as the above but issued to John Robinson was recorded on the same page as Thomas Robinson's deed. No idea where George's Crk is.

1801: Thomas Robinson enters 100 acres in Rutherford Co on waters of Webbs Crk adj my own land on the SE and Riggs on SS. 16 Jan 1801 Pg 235 Rutherford Co Land Entries 1795-1803.

1804: Thomas Robinson is a member of the Concord Baptist Church (Bostic NC) in 1804 according to the church minutes. Concord Baptist Church is one mile south of Bostic in Rutherford Co. Other members are Luke and John Robinson, Abel Lewis, Graves and Bartlett Eaves.

1804: Abraham Collins of Rutherford Co NC to Thomas Robinson of same for L40 184A on Webbs Creek. S/Abraham Collins. Wit: Luke Robinson, John Robinson. 21 Jul 1804 Rutherford Co NC Deeds 1802-1809 Vol 23 Pg 462.

Jasper County Georgia Records

Jasper Co was formed 10 Dec 1807 from Baldwin Co, however, it was called Randolph Co between 1807 and 1812 when the name was changed to Jasper.

1808: Nancy Stewart of Burk Co to Thomas Robinson, Esq., of Randolph Co, 13 Jul 1808 for $200 202 1/2 acres in the 17th District of Baldwin Co, Lot 45. Wit: John Robinson, Henry Turner, J.P. Recorded 2 Jan 1809 Jasper Co Deed Bk 1 Pg 154.

1808: Thomas Robinson and John Robinson Jr were listed as Jurors in Randolph Co.

Note: Several John Robinson's in Jasper Co at this time. John Robinson (son of Luke) died in 1817 and the other in 1820.

1809: Thomas Robinson of Randolph Co to Bartlett Eaves, Lot 45, District 17 of formerly Baldwin Co now Randolph Co. Wit: John Robinson, James Mackleroy, J.P. Recorded 8 Jun 1809 Jasper Co Deed Bk 3 Pg 428.

Note: Bartlett Eaves was from Rutherford Co, NC where the Eaves family has much contact with Thomas Robinson Sr.

1814: Thomas Robinson of Jasper Co to Solomon Gross 150 1/2 acres on Heard's Crk being part of Lot 171 District 18 formerly Baldwin Co. Wit: Richard Clark, Sterling Price. Recorded 17 Nov 1814 Jasper Co Deed Bk 7 Pg 73.

Note: Heard's Crk, today Herds Crk, is on the western edge of todays Jasper Co. Several miles north of Herds Crk is Robinson Crk, probably named after John Robinson. It appears most of Thomas Robinson Jr's land was in the western part of todays Jasper Co.

Notes on John Robinson:

Years ago when this genealogy was first started it wasn't clear how this John Robinson was or was not related to my family. Since dna has come out we have found that John Robinson is a 100% match with my family. John is the son of Luke Robinson who died in Marlboro Co SC and a son of Thomas Robinson Sr. Luke Robinson's wife was Christina Ussery whose sister, Mary (Polly) married Solomon Gross.

1822: William Bennet of Irwin Co to Thomas Robinson of Jasper Co, 7 Nov 1822 for $125 202 1/2 acres known as Lot Nr 136 in 1st District. Wit: Abel L. Robinson, Valinten Nash. Recorded 3 Feb 1824 Henry Co Deed Bk Pg 402.

1826: Thomas Robinson to Zackiariah Williams Lot 15, District 16 and part of Lot 14, same District, containing in all 246 acres and joining Luke Williams. Wit: Luke Williams, Abel L. Robinson. Recorded 18 Dec 1826.

Butts County Georgia Records

Butts County was formed in 1825 from parts of Henry and Monroe Counties.

1822: Luke Lasiter of Laurens Co to Thomas Robinson of Jasper Co, 28 Jan 1822, $150 for 202 1/2 acres in the County of Monroe, District 4 Lot Nr 34. Wit: Joseph Taylor, Luke Robinson, James Wynn. Recorded 18 May 1828 Butts Co Deed Bk A Pg 45.

1823: Thomas Robinson of Jasper Co to Samuel Nutt of Henry Co $400 for Lot 136 on Yellow Water Crk. Wit: John Price, Eli Congor J.J.C. Recorded 5 Aug 1823 Butts Co Deed Bk A Pg 180.

Note: Yellow Water Crk starts just above Jackson and runs to the Ocmulgee River on the Jasper/Butt County line.

Luke Robinson, son of Thomas Jr, also sold land to Samuel Nutt on the same day as Thomas Jr. Luke's land was also on Yellow Water Crk in 1st District of Henry County.

1824: Thomas Robinson to James Reeves, the former of Henry Co and the latter of Jasper Co, 21 Dec 1824, $1500 for 202 1/2 acres in the 1st District Lot 199, granted to Aquilla Phelps and from Phelps to Robinson. Signed Thomas Robinson, Sarah Robinson, wife. Wit: Jesse Clay, A.L. Robinson, J.P. Recorded 25 Sep 1826 Butts Co Deed Bk A Pg 104.

1824: Thomas Robinson to Samuel Strahan $275 for Lot 34 in Monroe Co the 4th District leading from Mineral Springs to the High Shoals on the Towaliga River containg 202 1/2 acres Lot 34. Wit: Abel L. Robinson, Andrew Nutt, J.P. Recorded 16 Mar 1825 Butts Co Deed Bk A Pg 273.

Note: Samuel Strahan was Thomas Jr's son-in-law.

Mineral Springs is today call Indian Springs and is south of Jackson. Towaliga River runs across the southwestern part of todays Butts Co. This was probably on the Indian Trail that ran through Butts Co and cross the Ocmulgee River at Seven Islands, from where it went to the "Mineral Springs" and then turned sharply southwestward to the Towaliga River which was crossed on stepping stones at Mangham's Shoals.

1825: Will of David Lawson of Butts Co has note payable to Thomas Robinson. Henry Co Court of Ordinary Pg 10, Mar 1825.

1826: Thomas Robinson to Matthew Gaston for $550 202 1/2 acres Lot 153 in 1st District of Henry Co, now Butts Co, granted to Prudence Phillips of Pulaski Co, Georgia. Wit: John Robinson, A.L. Robinson, Clk Sup Ct of Butts Co. Recorded 26 Dec 1826 Butts Co Deed Bk A Pg 184.

1. Joel Tapley is the son of Hosea Tapley who is found in Granville Co NC when he wit a deed for Thomas Robinson in 1753.
